Ferrari~Carano Winery Tour

What's a vacation without a tour of a world class vineyard? Craig's friend, Jeanne, who grew up in the San Francisco area recommended Ferrari-Carano as the best place to go -- and now we understand why.

Beautiful estate, great wines, and picture book gardens make this a little heaven on earth. I was so happy with the gardens that I didn't mind being the designated driver. Two tasting rooms ~ one more for tours and the other for longer, more subtle tastings and most likely locals. Many of Ferrari-Carano wines are featured at White House dinners. They don't do weddings here but feature more art events, tastings, and pairing classes.

Here's a few pictures of the bronze statues throughout the grounds.

Craig & Ann on the way to the tasting room. It didn't take them long to look at the gardens and it was hot that day - close to 100 degrees.

I don't know the reason behind the pig - but he was a cute little guy so I included him. If you look closely he has grapevines wrapped around his feet so I imagine he commemorates a pig's vineyard tour.

Several life size girl statues throughout the gardens. I'm going to bring my little garden girls back here with me someday.

Both these statues are about the size of an eight-year-old girl and are true treasures. The first one holds a butterfly, the second a bird.
